Monday Night Combat Tips & Tricks & Fixes

Maybe I don't want to see her face after all.

MNC been out for almost a year now on Xbox and a bit less on Steam. I want to share some things w/ you like my class specs and how I use them (most of the time) followed by what need to be improved.

My Class Endorsement / Gameplan

Support (My most played Class)

This is more of a defensive Support that can turn offensive in a heart beat. Total Recoil (Rate of Fire) can over-heal and hurt (gun) faster while building Juice w/ the boost of GrenADE (Bonus Juice). FocusAll (Shortened Recharge Time) is for his abilities of course making it available sooner. The only downside is his lack of health can lead to him getting kill by a Dagger Assassin for free unless he's overhealed "excluding a backstab" but you can replace FocusAll for armor.

My gameplan w/ Support

Buy the turret upgrade and hack upgrade as soon as the game start then overheal any and everyone you can before they depart. Find an good flanking or defense spot for your turret and hack to make it more effective. If enemy bots are near you and the area seems to be safe, melee them for twice the juice boost instead of grabing them or otherwise and don't forget to heal teammates and defense towers. (so many forget that it's frustrating). If team has advance deeper into enemy base, you'll probably want to move your turret in to help. If enemy is in your base, try to put your turret in an unsuspected spot and heal injured teammates and turrets. But if your teammate sucks or/and the enemy is to smart, you're fucked since you are after all a support.

Assassin

An in your face, get kill(s), get out is what my assassin does. Assassins have the lowest health out of the 6 classes so to protect her, I went w/ Gold Armor (Gobi Numb) and Speed (LaseRazor) to be very moble. FocusAll is there to recharged my Sprint,Grab,Smoke bomb, and Cloak cause it would suck if you need to get away and it's still on cooldown.

My gameplan w/ Assassin
First off, I find it crucial to get my Sword so only invest in that 1st then  kill some bots to get $ and boost my Juice. If I see an opening for a kill early on, I'll take it other wise just keep killing bots till you can buy the sword. When u get juice and they have defense guns out, use it and take those out ASAP giving your team an advantage by opening them up. If all else, be a freaken pain in the ass the entire match. (You'll usually tell when they have to resort to either making an Shave Ice machine or adding extra defense.)

Gunner

What's a gunner w/o tearing his enemies to shreds w/o Total Recoil (Rate of Fire) while wearing some Fine Steel Peel (Armor). Finally for your needs, you got BionoGrip (Reload Speed) cause him reloading that machine gun is slow as fuck as it is.

My gameplan w/ Gunner
Their only 2 ways to play a Gunner. Attack ASAP or Kill bots to get $ and Juice then become Rambo and use your machine gun on pros and Mortar Launcher on everything else. ONLY invested in Gunner Machine Gun till it's level 3 then after that, Invest only in Slam till level 3 and either Gunner Deploy, Buy Gorilla Bots or/and buy/upgrade defense towers. NO $ Should be put in Grapple what so ever. It's not worth it. while juiced, Mortar Launcher can destroy almost everything so for the Gunners out there, use it more often.

Sniper

I like to call him Mr. Gadget. Aptilube (Faster Ability Recharged) is for very quick trap refresh and Flak Grenade for serious damage and of course flanking. Steel Peel (Armor) for more health cause you'll likely be spending more time closer to the enemy then sniping from afar. Only downside is having Itchy Finger (Fast Firing Rate) but it's an necessary. You can still play the long range game but the endorsements will be kinda wasted.

My gameplan w/ Sniper
Invest in Traps and Upgrade your gun and find a place to make camp and start killing anything you see. Later you'll either want to upgrade gun again for Splash damage (great for more bot killing and Gunner/Support combo or lvl 3 traps to halt enemy progress and likely easy kills / get aways. If you see an Support w/ turret near enemy base, you can double your protection and hinder your enemy progress and get payed quicker. After that, you can go into upgrading Flak Grenade or/and Grapple to lvl 2. Grapple should be the last lvl 3 upgrade and sometimes, you don't even need it unless an assassin REALLY loves you to death... literally.

Tank




Tank does what tank do. Having Gobi Numb (Armor) in addition to having the highest HP makes him well, harder to kill especially when juiced. Dr. Trigger (Rate of Fire) makes his Jet Gun (from an actual Jet) and Railgun much faster to dispose of enemies. Hipclip (Clip Size) is not only for his guns....ok it's only for his guns.


My gameplan w/ Tank
Invest in tank health regenerate (not the deploy one) and on your choice of Jet Charge (recommended) or Product Grenade. Follow the bots and help push you bots to enemy base. If alone on your side you can do the juice boost by melee them a few times. If you taking damage from opponent that to far, use jet charge to get away and if you want, invest in level 2 deploy so you can heal faster. If you fully juiced, rush their base and destroy every turret you can or/and destroy your enemies w/ 1 hit kill DEATH BLOSSOMS!!! Laugh at any Assassins that actually tries to kill you from behind to only see you Jet Charge them. Also in my personal opinion, his best map is the LaseRazor Arena followed by Spunky Cola Arena.

Where's the Assault class you ask? I actually suck as him so I fell their wan't need to put a spec up right now but oddly enough I use to be awesome w/ him when the game started. So I gave you my Class Set up and Gameplan now to address a more serious issue about the Xbox version.

The Plea and What need to be Fixed

This is merely a simple request of let Uber Entertainment update the game like steam and get the new (very fun looking) Map. You are alienating the rather large Xbox community for MNC (keep in mind it's bigger then the PC community) to not see Crossfire matchmaking fixes that literally a team that is full of "prestige" players face against a long experienced players and 5 no so experienced and literally quit seconds before the match starts.

Their's also the Blue Logo screen of death when you try to connect to a server only to get "could not migrate to host" and force to quit game and restart it.



Their's a similar one that basically saids "Server is already at capacity" and it pops you back to main menu but if you go to any of the gametypes, it will automatically assumed it's looking for a match (even in single player) but it only freeze.

Their are many glitches and a few arena errors but just to name three that is the most common that I've experienced.

(This happens mainly when I play assassin) Upon respawning, 1 or 2 of my abilities won't work. This can be Sprint, Lunge, Smoke bomb, and the most crucial ability in Grapple. It basically handicaps her and simply dieing won't fix it.

The Airstrike glitch where an Support can toss up to 3 under the enemy spawn room and can kill them and sometimes lock them in stats menu for the rest of the match or they leave.

Tho not a glitch per say but still pretty bad. In the Spunky Cola Arena, their's an area where 4 out of the 6 class (especially assaults) can sneak on a ledge behind the field of play to the enemy base and either launched a surprised attack, destroy defense towers and free attack on the moneyball fore free.

Don't charge us for updates and maps that they want to give out for free and do away w/ your priority or whatever system. Just don't want to see an good game die like the way TF2 on consoles is.

BTW how awesome Uncle Tully's Funland looks.

RANT: Pimps = Suspended

DA Hell!! I Planed a 3hr of playing MNC and now I can't!?  =(

9:44 P.M., I booted my Xbox 360 while watching some Draft aftermath on ESPN (Shotouts to Jake Locker going #8) 6 mins later I switch over to see I'm suspended from Xbox (till Saturday or longer as they deem fit as the email saids). I'm like thinking this came from a VERY SALTY person who RAGE Quit on MvC 3 or locking entire team down w/ Sniper (Frost traps into easy headshots) or other things in MNC so I was piss off cause a player basically got me suspended. Minutes later I read the email stating the suspension and what they did this for is on my bio.

I had that exact bio for way over a year and nothing was made of it until today. I just figure cause I use the word "pimps" alone that they did this is really unfortunate. I do not mean negative things when I use the word "pimps".  I get it can be a negative word, I just use it to express awesomeness sometimes but I digress.

I would of like to have a warning of sort or even speak to them about this before it happened but now, it leave me w/ a now "scared" record and for ppl that knows me I do not want to be associated w/ anything that can be damaging to myself, family, or/and friends even tho this is no where near a crime.

Microsoft and Xbox Team, I'll surely change it when if ever this is lifted but I'm just sad that this happened the way it did. If the word "pimps" was NOT the reason why I can't play online then what the hell is the reason behind this. I might talk to them via Email just to clarify the reason but I believe it won't even be answered. All I can really ask at this point if to not put the "CODE OF CONDUCT" on my account just to have people think I'm a cheater as well. I do not want to be something I'm not.

Dat MvC 3

 With the upcoming MvC3, I'm hype up for it. If you want to get it, get the SE Version From Capcom Store then use the promo code "THANKYOUTEN" so you'll be buying it like a regular edition w/ awesome stuff w/ it. Don't know if this promo code will work after release tho.

Also MvC2 had 10+ years of awesomeness and I seen alot of great matches as they happened live and the Clockw0rk vs. Neo 15k Money Match is no exception.

The "Fuck the Knicks" Mango Sentinel colors (Orange/Blue) is also influenced by the players and the "stream monsters" which you're guarantee to hear or see said at lease 5 times.

Review : Monday Night Combat

So this is what you get when you mix Team Fortress 2, DotA and add in a Reality Show setting.

    MNC is a welcome addition to Xbox Live Arcade and it's damn addicting to play. The general odjective is to stop the bots/opponets from let getting to your moneyball. You have 6 class to choose from and each brings an unique skills (4 per class) to the table which cost money to upgrade and be more badass. You can also make 4 different types of defense towers at selected location also at the cost of money.

Now to list then as what type of TF2 classes yaaa. (I'm doing this part just for fun.)

• Assault - The all around class or the "MVP". Did I mention he has Jetpack.
• Support : Engineer and Medic role into one awesome combo.
• Tank - Pyro on Steroids
• Assassin - Scout's Speed/Spy cloaking and killing ability but lowest health.
• Gunner - Heavy that can become a giant turret. Also he has Jetpack! (kind of)
• Sniper - He snips, lays freeze traps, haves a mean flank ability.

 There is a rank (kind of?) where you gain xp per game but other then you play this alot (and likely know your stuff), their's nothmg more to it. Custom class is just that, select 1 of the 6 class and give him (or her "Assassin") 3 sponsorships for your gameplay. Now onto the Awesome and Not So.


The Awesome!

• Classes - Like I mention before, the 6 classes are unique and fun to play as. Each have multiple ways to be played. It's always fun playing a support class and leading w/ kills or/and money gained.
• The 4 or 5 Maps - Tho their not alot of maps, the ones we have are fun to play on and can lead to heated battle in the lanes.
• Blitz mode - Solo or party w/ friends or random xbox live for money ball defense madness. Manage to get to round 86 using a custom Support class till the bots broke my defenses. Even crazier, a group manage to get to round 419.
• Crossfire - Easily the main and best feature. Up to 6 on 6 xbox live madness to lead their bots to destroy the other team's moneyball while protecting their own.

The Not Awesome!

• Better Matchmaking - Crossfire is great and all but it can be down right frustrating when you get random put into a team of newbies (lvl 0-20) while the other team get all the high rank or balance team and just steam roll within 3 mins or ppl leaving.
• More Gametype(s) - I believe this will happened in the future but anyways.. I'll like to see 3 way crossfire, capture-the-flag, and more.
• When it lags - While the game runs smooth 80% of the time(or 50% if a game is already in progress), It seems that If 1 person is lagging then it effects everyone and it just ruins everything.
• Future Hook - You are hook now but what about 4-6 months later and the game remains the same. They need "and probably will" to update it regularly w/ new and shiny things like more awesome maps and what I listed above.

So you want my Final Verdict eh.. Let me say this, If you a fan of TF2 (especially if you play it on 360 and since it's NOT gonna get the Updates like PC does) you will love this game. If you Like shooters in general, you will like/love this. If you like only DotA, LoL, or/and HoN, you might like it. Give the demo a try, it practically gives you the full game right there and can play a couple of Crossfire matches. Now I need to go place my sentry in an flaking spot and get more MVP badges so cya later.

This is my E3 prediction special! Tho their is many to speak of, I'm breaking it down to the BIG 3. "M.S.N." Yea.... I'm clever am I. I wanted to get this out a week before E3 but unfortunately, stuff happens. I have a little fun w/ this so w/ that, enjoy the read.

Rant - Microsoft / Nintendo Points Gotz 2 Go. (UPDATE)

 (Microsoft has lower the cost of their pointz but still a fucken joke)

This is the first of probably many rants I will do so w/ that said, here goes..

This will mainly be focused on Microsoft but w/ Nintendo mention.

These so called Points as replacements for $ got to go. Say I want to buy a XBL Game or DLC for an Xbox Game that cost 15$ but 1200 MS points. However, you're only able to pay the given amount for the points which are....

• $6.25 for 500 Microsoft Points      (as of now $4.99 for 400 Microsoft Points)
• $12.50 for 1000 Microsoft Points  (now $9.99 for 800 Microsoft Points
• $25 for 2000 Microsoft Points       (now $19.99 for 1600 Microsoft Points)
• $62.50 for 5000 Microsoft Points  (now $49.99 for 4000 Microsoft Points)

That's It.. No $1, $5, $10, $15 options given which means I have to dish out $18.75 for something I wanted $15 (or 1200 MS points) for. If you think having spare MS Points and losing $3.75 is not a problem, you clearly missing the point. I and many ppl want to save money and just no need to pay extra cash when we don't need to. Many ppl don't know (or don't care to know) that 80 MS Points equals $1 and their actually exists games (and avatar gear if you count that crap) that are 1$ but spending more to get it. Their is one redeeming factor, They list the actual price on their Games On Demand so hopefully we'll see a change for the better.

Nintendo have this problem as well w/ it's Wii Points. I have 700 points but need 100 for the game I would like to purchase but theirs no $1 (or 100 Wii Points) options in the Wii Shopping Channel but instead this...

• $10.00 for 1000 Wii Points
• $20.00 for 2000 Wii Points
• $30.00 for 3000 Wii Points
• $50.00 for 5000 Wii Points

I Don't want to play $10 just to buy one game. So the point is, just ditch these points crap and Just put the damn price of the DL game/item and just do Real World Price like Playstation Network does... Yea... They didn't BS w/ ppl like the others did and that's cool points for them.

The One Feature I would Welcome but...

Ya know about the Xbox Update soon to arrive in November? Well I been excited for one of the new feature; Facebook on 360 is meh and lol at Twitter (unless you a game company or see Money $avings deals on games you want) then it's ok. The one I'm talking about is Last.FM. Stephen Totilo from Kotaku posted vids of all 3 features but let's talk about Last.FM quickly.

So here's what it have and not have. (NOTE: You have to already have an account or make one on Last.fm. to work on Xbox)

• Your Pick from Thousands of Music,Artists,Albums, and game related. (Like Legend of Zelda or Nobuo Uematsu.
• Play Many Music Genders from Hip Hop, Rock, and METAL! (sorry had to cap that)
• On Play, You see many cool or/and funny portrait (not all the time) of the artist or group while the music is playing.
• Able to run Last.FM in the background while still on Last.FM (maybe you don't like those pictures or want to see more music options)
• NOT able to run Last.FM in the background of Xbox Live (Noooooooooooooooooo)

Wait... I'm Not gonna be able to run it w/ other games. Major Bummer man. Would Like to kill fools and suckers in Fallout 3 while listening to Killswitch Engage but. Ahh man..

Yea so maybe I won't be using Last.FM all that much on Xbox but I got something that I been using to hold me over called TVersity (I can Stream actual radio stations on it) or a Computer. Anyways, If you'll like to see the vids and preview Stephen Totilo did, look below.

Shadow Complex? More Like Epic Complex

From the makers from Gears of War and Unreal Tournament series, Epic Games (or just Epic) bring you Shadow Complex. This 15$ or 1200 MS FUN POINTS is one you should check out.


If you played Metoid, Contra, Ninja Gaiden (NES ones) or other games like that, then this is how it's played but enhanced to this Era of gaming in all aspects. Not to get into the story much but here goes. You Start out w/ a black dude and you destroy a helicopter off the bat (Awesome). After you do that, you though you saved the Vice President only to see his building go boom and then the character dies.

After that, Jason (Up) and your wife takes you to the caves where she played as a child but then some odd people take her away into their base and start torturing her thinking she's a spy thus you begin to save her and then there's alot more that get's exposed as you save her.

The controls are PERFECT, you can shoot anywhere even if enemy are in the background you can headshot him. The Story is good, it's also base partly on a book. Gameplay is awesome, so satisfying to punch and enemy out of the picture or literally run them over w/ the Friction Dampener (boots that make you run on air kind of). It also have that multi play through like beat the game w/ only 14% items or beat the game in 2 hrs on Insane Difficulty w/ 100% items and making sure you stay ahead of your friends in making the enemy scream and stuff (yea, I'm talking to you!). Their is some bugs like this AT-AT* like boss will just look the other way while you bomb the shit out of it (Right).

This is a true DL game. I wish it would eventually make it's way to PS3 or even Steam and it might so keep your fingers cross.

Mass Effect 2: There be no New Game +... Might get Insanity mode instead

It was announced over the weekend that their will be No New Game + so to explain why, here's Preston Watamaniuk, the lead designer for Mass Effect has to say.

The short answer is no.

The reason is progression. We have been working very hard to make sure we design the abilities system to offer smooth progression into ME3 from ME2. Allowing double progression on characters makes that almost impossible. We have to have reasonable knowledge about where a character could end up finishing all content on a playthrough. We also want to offer choice of character build within specific classes.

We replaced that feature with playing after you were done because it preserves progression and allows for smoother downloading of PRC.

Tho this sucks, but it's understandable and it just might make you be a little caution, finding and killing all foes, hidden stuff, and other stuff like that comes into play. This also means that your "character" will be transfer to ME3.

Now about ME's Insanity mode. Their was grief that this was an unlock but their was a reason as Christina Norman, lead system designer explained.

Insanity difficulty was made unlockable, because it was so difficult a player needed the experience of already playing through the game in order to complete it.

Ultimately if I have to choose between those options, I will choose a harder insanity difficulty, because I believe that's what's important to our players. Overall insanity in ME2 will be harder than ME1. That's a heads up for everyone! Beating insanity on ME2 is going to be a real "achievement", a badge of honor, get ready.

So basically it'll be toned down to be playable in ME2 since their's no New Game + If they put it in... I don't mind this too much but the hardcore of the hardcore does.

So other then the none announcement that said to be delivered last friday, that's pretty much it.

Bioware... Keep a lid on it will ya.

Mass Effect is one the best game of the decade w/ it story, gameplay, and your action and decision that effect your character and story just to name a few. So w/ #2 coming there's apparently letting out a bit more then we want to know. It's great that you show Gameplay of it at E3 and see notice changes like "wait, is he reloading?!?!" and "OMG!! did he just tell so-and-so to use their ability w/o pausing the game". This small things are good but things like story and character info among others that can spoiled surprises for you when you finally get the game.

So Bioware, I like you and all but put a lid on it and bring the info out slowly please. =)

Winter will be in Perfect Darkness

One of the most popular game in both Shooter and Multiplayer FPS the way it is today is FINALLY coming to Xbox Live this winter. Hold up your Laptop Gun high folks cause it's also said to be running in 1080p.

I'll let my Mounted Laptop gun on a wall kill you this winter lol.

Rockstar Presents new Xbox GTA Expansion: The Ballad of Gay Tony

Long title huh...

The Ballad of Gay Tony is said to focus on the glitzy "high-end night life" of Liberty City. The second Xbox 360 exclusive episode will put players in the role of Luis Lopez.

"players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price."

This will be interesting since the uproar of the gay and lez issue Microsoft is having. As always, we'll have to see more info on the expansion at later date. It's said to be out this Fall for 20$ (1600 ms points)

There's a few 80's game (which includes Ms. Pac Man, Paperboy, and TMNT) are available for $3($3.27 w/ tax) on Amazon via Xbox 360 Download..

I know you can "torrent" them and play it on an "emulator" but throw a bone to these guys

What to forge?!

I been fighting myself for a while to make a race like map on sandbox while I was making a Goldeneye Remake. Then I see I made an error and gave myself no room (I'm making it underground fyi) and I wish it had an select all and move feature (you listening Bungie??!!) but it don't so I have to redo it all over. So my race track ideals kick in and abandoned that project for now to focus on the raceway.

I got some crazy great ideals for it and i hope I an implement all of then onto it and make it enjoyable. Stay tune I guess. =P

I also was going to do a Remake of Complex from Goldeneye but I see that the map can't ever be dead on especially w/ the Hidden Walls/Rooms which make it unique. Can't do Facility (again) either cause someone did an very good one in Sandbox and is now in my Files Share (Named: Sand Facility) for DL. Although Stack and Basement are alternatives.
